The Jewish Telegraphic Agency notes the Elie and Sarah Hirschfeld Collection in its roundup of what to see in New York City currently. “Scenes of New York City,” the Elie Hirschfeld Collection, is comprised of 130 works, including 82 artists not previously represented at the New-York Historical Society. The theme celebrates views of New York City past and present, and the curation brings an inclusive approach, with insights from a diverse group of local New Yorkers included on the wall plaques, alongside the art historians’ expertise.

The Elie Hirschfeld collection will be on view through February 27, 2022. It will then remain in the permanent collection at the New-York Historical Society, to be displayed on rotation.

Among the renowned artists acquired by Elie Hirschfeld and now on display in this collection: Georgia O’Keeffe, Louise Nevelson, Edward Hopper, David Lawrence, David Hockney, Andy Warhol, Mark Rothko, and many more.

The exhibition was curated by Wendy Nālani E. Ikemoto.
