Elie Hirschfeld’s Political Donations
Elie Hirschfeld, who has known President Trump for decades, has made numerous donations to candidates in both political parties over the years. Previously registered as a Democrat, he switched parties when Trump announced his candidacy.
“I did it because he was a friend,” notes Hirschfeld. “I didn’t think he had a chance to win at the time. The sense I had was it was a promotional effort, but it took awhile for me to realize it was his intent to win. When Donald puts his mind toward something, he usually gets it done.”
Known for the Grand Sutton residential towers, the Crowne Plaza Hotel, and Park Avenue Court, Elie Hirschfeld also worked directly with Trump to develop what would become Manhattan’s Riverside South.
In addition to real estate development, Elie Hirschfeld is known for his wide-ranging philanthropic endeavors. He founded the Elie Hirschfeld Foundation in order to further expand on his contributions in areas such as healthcare, athletics, Jewish causes, and education.
“On financial issues, people in the real estate world believe Donald Trump is doing better than would be the case if we had a progressive-leaning president,” Hirschfeld stated.
