Renowned as a New York City real estate developer, Elie Hirschfeld has over forty years of experience developing hotels, commercial and residential buildings, parking garages, and retail complexes. Mr. Hirschfeld serves as the president of Hirschfeld Properties, and is also a philanthropist, an avid art collector, and a producer of several Broadway theater productions.

Upon joining the family business in 1976, Elie Hirschfeld’s first task was to build the Empire State Building parking garage, prominently located on 33rd Street. In the ensuing years, Mr. Hirschfeld has created a legacy. Expansive growth of the firm into new areas of real estate development has included The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Exchange Tower, and the landmark Hotel Pennsylvania, a challenging project which was successfully redeveloped. Other well-known properties on his list of accomplishments include: The Grand Sutton, Park Avenue Court, The Gotham, and The Sutton Collection. Other visionary achievements have included New York’s first open-air parking garage, and Manhattan Mall, one of the first vertical shopping malls in NYC.

Collaborative efforts of Hirschfeld Properties, as directed by Elie Hirschfeld, have included innovative partnerships with other renowned real estate and development firms, including Silverstein Properties, Empire Realty Group, The Donald Trump Organization, The Zeckendorf Organization, Belz Enterprises of Memphis, and Simon Property Group.

Mr. Hirschfeld earned his degree in law from New York University School of Law, and his undergraduate degree from Brown University, graduating with phi beta kappa, magna cum laude and as President of his Class.

He is a competitive athlete, having competed in over 100 triathlons, 11 marathons and 3 Ironman competitions.

Elie Hirschfeld is married to Sarah J. Schlesinger, and has 5 children: David Hirschfeld, Benjamin Hirschfeld, Daniella Hirschfeld, Matthew Hirschfeld, and Jonathan Hirschfeld.
